About ten years ago, I was visiting Los Angeles when I drove by a theatre on Sunset Boulevard advertising a play featuring Dr. Quinn, Medicine Women actor Chad Allen. To my surprise, I managed to get a ticket that Friday night---my last in L.A.
The experience was interesting, to say the least. The concessionaire was a porn star named David Thompson, who I had seen a few nights earlier performing at the Probies. As I arrived about an hour early, I had a chance to chat with him. Things got better when a bare-chested Chad came out of the theatre into the lobby. It was all I could do to JUST shake hands with him! Another favorite actor of mine at the time, Morgan Englund, came bicycling up up to the theater (which began shattering my assumption that everyone who has ever been on-screen is driven around in a limousine).
The play, change at Babylon, got off to a great start, with actor Timothy DiPri taking an imaginary shower on-stage. Unfortunately, neither Chad nor Morgan followed suit, but overall, seeing my first stage play with real celebrities was a great experience.
